Council
 
The Council of the Municipality of Hanover consists of seven elected members. Members of council are elected on a ward basis. The Reeve is elected by the municipality at large. Elections are held every four (4) years. Our current council was elected on October 25, 2006 and will remain in office until the next election scheduled for October 2010.
 
Stan Toews - Reeve
 
Stan Toews has served as a member of council since 1995. He was first elected to represent ward one which includes the Village of New Bothwell and the rural areas surrounding New Bothwell and the Town of Niverville. He resides near New Bothwell and operates a mixed family farm. Stan was elected as Reeve of the municipality in October 2006.
 
Sonny Peters - Ward 1 - New Bothwell area
 
Sonny Peters was elected as a council member in October 2006 and represents ward one which includes the Village of New Bothwell and the rural areas surrounding Niverville, Tourond and Randolph. He resides and operates a family farm near New Bothwell.
 
Bernie Stahn - Ward 2 - Mitchell area
 
Bernie Stahn was first elected in October 2002 to represent ward two which includes the Village of Mitchell and the adjacent rural area. Bernie is employed by Canada Post. He and his family reside in Mitchell.
Bob Brandt - Ward 3 - Blumenort area
 
Councillor Bob Brandt owns and operates Crickside Enterprises (a motorcycle, all terrain vehicle and snowmobile business) and the Steinbach Campground. Bob was elected to represent the Village of Blumenort (ward three) and the rural areas surrounding Blumenort, Friedensfeld and Steinbach. Bob and his family reside in Steinbach.
Paul Perreault - Ward 4 - Friedensfeld/Sarto/Pansy area
 
Paul Perrault is a retired Canadian National Railway employee who resides near Sarto. Paul was elected as a council member in October 2006 and represents the south east rural area (ward four) of the municipality including the communities of Sarto and Pansy.
 
Clif Bakx - Ward 5 - Kleefeld area
 
Clif Bakx owns and operates Tristar Dairy (farm supply business) in Grunthal. He represents the Village of Kleefeld and the rural area adjacent to that community. Clif was elected to represents his area in October 2006. Cliff and his family reside in Grunthal.
 
Henry Funk - Ward 6 - Grunthal area
 
Henry Funk was elected to represent the community of Grunthal and surrounding rural area in October 2006. He owns and operatives a family farm near Sarto. Henry also operated a construction company for many years, but now concentrates his efforts on his farming business and serving as a member of council.
