***NEW*** Right-of-Way Cut Permit Policy
The RM of Hanover has adopted a Right-of-Way Cut Permit Policy to ensure any excavation or surface cutting within municipal rights-of-way is completed safely and properly restored. The policy applies to all utility companies and contractors working in municipal roads, streets, lanes, or road allowances.
Before beginning work, a permit must be obtained from the municipality. Applicants are required to follow municipal engineering and safety standards, protect the worksite, and maintain safe access for residents and motorists. Once work is complete, the permit holder is responsible for restoring the affected area to municipal standards and ensuring the repair remains in good condition during a one-year warranty period.
This policy helps protect municipal infrastructure, improve public safety, and ensure consistent restoration of roads and other public spaces following excavation work.
The full Right-of-Way Cut Permit Policy, ENG-003, can be found below.
Bylaw 2597-26 Regulating Excavations on, in or Under Streets and Roads of the RM of Hanover as well as the Installation of Private Infrastructure in Municipal R-O-W,which enforces ENG-003, can be found below.
